Too Cool for School Pumpkin Sleeping Pack Review

For me, sleeping packs are an absolute must in the winter. The chilly temperatures outside force me to crank up the heat at night. The next morning, my skin will feel tight, dry, and majorly irritated from all the hot air . Things only get worse once I step outside into the cold air. I’ve been desperate to find a sleeping pack I could wear to bed that would both moisturize and protect my skin from the harsh, wintery air.  Enter the Too Cool for School Pumpkin Sleeping Pack:

Too Cool for School Pumpkin Sleeping Pack

I know what you’re thinking- this is most strangely packaged product ever, right? Well, no, these are just the samples. They look like little pumpkin juice boxes!  Here’s what the actual full-sized product looks like:

For once, the samples are cuter than the actual product itself.  I added a batch of 10 samples (only $3!)  to my cart on a complete whim while browsing RoseRoseShop, and I am SO, SO happy I did, because I’ve discovered an incredible product!

Too Cool for School Pumpkin Sleeping Pack

The first thing you’ll notice upon applying this sleeping pack is the very strong scent. I’m not quite sure how to describe it…maybe a bit like a generic men’s cologne? Once the scent starts to fade, about 5 minutes in, I find it to smell very nice.  The consistency of the Pumpkin Sleeping Pack is THICK! It’s sort of a hybrid between a very thick cream and a  slippery gel.

Too Cool for School Pumpkin Sleeping Pack...super moisturizing!

So what’s inside this creamy gel of pumpkin goodness? Here are a few stand-out ingredients:

Bromelain – an enzyme found in pineapple stems, gently exfoliates the skin by removing dead skin cells

Pumpkin extract – similar to bromelain, the enzymes in pumpkin break down excess keratin in the skin to reveal a smooth, exfoliated surface

Licorice root oil – anti-inflammatory that soothes the skin, gradually acts as a skin whitening agent

Hyaluronic Acid – can hold up 1,000x its weight in water! intensely moisturizes and protects the skin

Here’s a full ingredient list if you’re curious!

So why do I love this sleeping pack so much? Well, it claims to:

1. Moisturize skin to combat dryness

2. Exfoliate to reveal silky smooth skin

3. Shield skin from the dry environment

And yes, I can confirm this 1 sleeping pack does ALL 3 things! Super love it! When I rinse the mask off in the morning, I’m left with ultra-smooth, HYDRATED skin! Much, much better than the wintery skin I was battling before.

Sleeping Pack Comparison

I even compared the Too Cool for School Pumpkin Sleeping Pack to some other moisturizing masks I had, and it’s no contest! The Pumpkin sleeping pack wins hands down for providing the ultimate moisturizing effect!

Interested in trying it for yourself? RoseRoseShop has a 10 pc sample pack available for just $3! If you want to spring for the full-size(which you TOTALLY should if you have dry skin. Trust me!!!), it’s $16 at SaSa. I just ordered mine!

The Body Shop Honeymania Lip Balm Review

As part of its new Honeymania range, The Body Shop recently introduced this Honeymania lip balm.

Honeymania Lip Butter

The Body Shop describes this lip balm as “luxuriously sweet with Community Fair Trade honey made from the nectar of wildflowers. It has a sweet, floral scent and leaves lips feeling kissably soft.”  I love a good, moisturizing lip product, so I decided to give this one a shot.

I’ve tried a few Body Shop lip butters in the past and had problems with them being greasy not lasting very long I’m happy to report that I didn’t have any such problem with the Honeymania lip balm.  I think the most important distinction between this and a lot of Body Shop’s other lip products is that this is truly a balm and not a butter.

The Body Shop Honeymania Lip Butter

As you can see, the Honeymania lip balm is a honey-colored, semi-translucent wax. In contrast, most of the other Body Shop’s lip products are opaque, white or cream colored butters.  After comparing the ingredients of the Honeymania lip balm to some of their other lip products, I found that most of the lip butters are comprised mostly of shea butter, whereas this one is mostly made of beeswax.

Shea butter is better for a quick shot of moisture (but prepare for a bit of a grease slick on the lips), and beeswax is superior when it comes to longer lasting moisture and protection.  The beeswax acts as a protective barrier, sealing every bit of moisture in and keeping cold, drying air out.

I really like this lip balm! I’ve been carrying it with me everywhere and swiping it on if my lips feel dry or it gets a bit windy outside. The scent is very sweet and light, very soft and subtle.  I’m looking forward to trying out some more products in the Honeymania range. I really do love soft and sweet scents. It looks like I’m in luck, too, because this scent is also available as an Eau de Toilette!

Body Shop Honeymania...sweet and creamy body products. Love the scent!

The Honeymania Lip Balm is available at The Body Shop for $6. Doesn’t everything in this line look absolutely lush? I just love the melting honeycomb imagery. Oh, and how about this Honeymania Cream Body Scrub? Mmmm…
